Description:
PROVISION OF CONSTRUCTION OF CLASSROOM BLOCKS IN MASHONALAND CENTRAL, MASHONALAND WEST, MASHONALAND EAST AND MANICALAND
TIMB intends to construct classroom blocks in line with the ATTACHED approved Government designs and Bills of Quantities. Table below shows the identified schools and their location.

Mashonaland East
Manicaland
Mashonaland Central
Sadoma Extension Secondary School, the school is in Makonde District, and it is located 86km from Chinhoyi CBD.
Mukanganise Secondary School is located at Wangamela Farm, Marondera District, and some 90 km from Harare.
Nyamukamani Secondary School is in Chendambuya, Manicaland; 167km from Harare
Mapako Primary school is around 165km from Harare in Matepatepa Farming Community.
OBJECTIVES
To provide quality and durable classroom infrastructure that enhances access to education.
To ensure compliance with approved Government classroom block designs and specifications.
To promote accountability, transparency, and value for money in the implementation of the project.
SCOPE OF WORK
The contractor shall be responsible for:
1. Pre-construction activities
Site clearance, setting out, and mobilization.
Verification of measurements against approved BoQ and plan.
2. Construction works
Construction of classroom block(s) according to provided drawings and specifications.
Adherence to approved Bill of Quantities and material specifications.
Structural works include foundations, walls, roofing, finishes, electrical, and plumbing (where applicable).
3. Compliance & Standards
Ensure all works meet Zimbabwean building standards and Ministry of Public Works guidelines.
Incorporate safety, environmental protection, and sustainability considerations.
4. Post-construction activities
Site clean-up and proper disposal of waste.
Defects liability period (minimum 6 months) with provisions for corrections.
5. Deliverables
Completed classroom block(s) as per design and BoQ.
Progress reports (monthly).
Final project completion report including as-built drawings.
Handover certificate signed by TIMB, Ministry of Education, and contractor.
Duration
The project is expected to be completed within 3 - 4 months from the date of site handover.
Budget
The project budget will be guided by the approved Bill of Quantities
